Vézelay

26 kms

From the “Eternal Hill” to Santiago de Compostela

Facing the Morvan mountains, at the top of a steep hill, the Sainte-Madeleine basilica, majestically watches over the vineyard houses and Renaissance residences. This masterpiece of Romanesque art, restored in the 19th century by Viollet-le-Duc, makes Vézelay a major pilgrimage site and a departure point for Compostela.

Vézelay is also its vineyards, its winegrowers and its wines! You will discover some of them at the grocery shop of the campsite !

Vézelay remains the most visited site in 2022 in the whole Burgundy Franche Comté region.
